A Virtual Book Tour Podcast for the book "Fuel". Visit the blog at http://www.fuelbook.net for more information on the book, advance ordering, and to find related links to news archives about that time and the events, discussion of the writing/editing/publishing process, and information on alternative fuel sources which are readily available to all of us today. |
| In 2000, an organized protest by lorry drivers, farmers and fishermen, who were being squeezed out of existence by the high price of fuel in the U.K., blocked entrances to numerous oil refineries in England, and brought the country to an unexpected standstill. "Fuel" is the memoir of two Americans who got stranded in Cornwall, the southwesternmost "toe" of Britain during the fuel protests of 2000. What was planned as a glorious vacation in the "English Riviera" turned into a journey of inconvenient lessons, as the entire country came to a screeching halt, due to lack of petrol. |
